Immersed in Art at Nagano Prefectural Art Museum this Autumn!

長野

Hello, fellow travel lovers!

This time, I visited Nagano Prefectural Art Museum to fully enjoy the “season of art” this autumn!

Right away, I was greeted by a beautifully minimalist white building, stripped down to pure elegance.

Thinking, "Ah, this place definitely has an artistic vibe…!" I stepped inside.

I took my time exploring the permanent collection.

First, I took my time immersing myself in Nagano Prefectural Art Museum's permanent collection!

As I stood face-to-face with each piece, I felt as if I were completely immersed in the world of art.

I couldn’t help but think, "Am I becoming part of the art, too?" and fully enjoyed feeling like an artist myself.

Hosomi Exhibit: A Rooster at Microscope-Level Detail!?

Next up was a special exhibit from Kyoto’s Hosomi Museum.

Among the exhibits was a painting of a lively rooster, incredibly detailed down to the finest features!

I couldn’t help but wonder, “How does the artist’s eye work? Are they using a microscope?”—completely amazed by the intricate detail.

Mist Sculpture: Stepping into a Dreamlike White World

Then, I entered the mysterious experience zone, the "Mist Sculpture"!

In this area, a dense mist fills the space, turning everything around me completely white.

The sky reflected on the water and the mist-shrouded walkway create a dreamlike, artful scene.

This is truly a “white-out at every turn” experience!

I tried taking photos in the mist, but honestly, I couldn’t tell what I was capturing... (haha). Still, it made for a memorable experience!

Higashiyama Kaii Exhibit: Immersed in a World of Blue and Reflection

東山魁夷ら信州にゆかりの画家の展覧会「描くこと この地との出会い」 茅野市美術館にて2018年7月28日(土)から開催 | AXIS Web | デザインの視点で、人間の可能性や創造性を伝えるメディア

Finally, a moment to be enveloped by the works of Kaii Higashiyama.

The deep blue reflections in his work left me in awe, thinking, “This must be the essence of art…!”

It was a luxurious autumn moment, with the serene landscapes of Shinshu beautifully intertwined in stillness.

I was familiar with Higashiyama Kaii’s work from the Yokohama Bank calendars I used to have. With a sense of nostalgia, I found myself thinking, “Ah, this blue, how I’ve missed it!” as I enjoyed each piece.

And so, this art-filled journey came to a close. Autumn, the perfect season to dive into the world of art, still has plenty more to offer!

The journey continues… Wishing you all a wonderful autumn adventure!
