Eishoji Temple

Eishōji temple is the only surviving nunnery in Kamakura.

Eishō-ji is particularly believed to offer blessings for the protection of women, household safety, and safe childbirth.

Upon entering the temple grounds, there is a small reception area where you pay the admission fee and receive a pamphlet for your visit.

 

When you open the small door to the principal image, there is an offertory box. You can give an offering and pay respects to the golden Amida Triad.

The temple features a beautiful garden with a refreshing bamboo grove and lush moss.

There are pathways through the bamboo grove and a pond, allowing visitors to enjoy a peaceful and tranquil experience.
