Hello, fellow travel lovers!
This time, I fully enjoyed the taste of autumn at Roadside Station Oasis Obuse 🍁
It's chestnut season, and here in Obuse, it's a chestnut paradise with treats like kuri-kanoko, kuri-yokan, chestnut sweets, and kuri-okowa! I couldn’t resist and ended up buying one of each (haha).
Needing a break, I enjoyed a relaxing coffee time while taking in the beautiful scenery ☕.
Sipping tea in the autumn breeze—it's pure bliss.
The local product fair was bustling with activity, showcasing a full lineup of Shinshu apples like 'Fuji,' 'Akibae,' and 'Shinano Sweet' 🍎.
Of course, I couldn't pass them up and made sure to take some home.
And then… just when I thought the season was over, I stumbled upon some huge Hosui pears!
This must be fate. Of course, I put them in my basket, and on the way back, my hands were completely full… my arms were already starting to shake (haha)!
Next, I headed over to the Hokusai Museum and Gansho-in Temple, but it seemed an event was drawing a crowd—it was packed!
The parking lot was also completely full—every space taken!
I was really looking forward to it, but the scent of freshly baked apple pie filling the car seemed to be saying, 'Hurry home and enjoy me,' so I decided to save this adventure for next time!
By the way, the apple pie I got from 'BENI-BENI' on the Zenkoji Nakamise street was wonderfully aromatic and rich in flavor—an absolute delight!
So, this time, I’ll savor my souvenirs: the chestnut okowa, apple pie, and the tastes of Shinshu’s autumn—apples and Hosui pears. Next time, I’ll be back for a proper visit on a non-event day!
The journey continues... Wishing you all a wonderful trip! – TabiJun
