Ryuka Falls

Tochigi

A stunning waterfall! It was worth going in the rain!

Long ago, a monk saw a dragon behind the waterfall transform into a Bodhisattva. The name comes from the way the dragon appeared to ascend into the sky.

The signboard in front of the entrance.

From the parking lot to here, there are two routes: one that goes through the mountains and another that follows the road.

We split into two groups for an experiment. The group that took the road arrived about 2 minutes earlier.

Just inside the entrance, there's a sign. It mentions that the waterfall across the highway is Nunotaki Falls

Is it this one?

It is said that Akiko Yosano and Tekkan Yosano once enjoyed themselves at Ryuka Falls.

It gradually started pouring rain.

It's a walking trail, but you need to be careful as there are some puddles along the way.

It was quite an uphill climb.

Fukyo Falls. You can really feel the abundance of negative ions here.

I thought it was negative ions, but it turns out to be something called phytoncides. I didn’t know that! 💦

One thing's for sure—this good feeling is definitely seeping into my body.

Whoa! A black object suddenly crossed in front of me—what a shock!

Its sleek, glossy appearance made it seem like a guardian of the falls. Since it cleared the path, I continued on my way.

A structure suddenly appeared in front of me. Could this be the waterfall viewing platform?

To the left of this photo is Ryuka Falls. This is… amazing!

So close!

The waterfall is truly impressive. I’m so glad I came!

Summary

It felt like I had wandered into a mystical otherworld and caught a glimpse of a dragon on this surreal hiking trip. Even though there were moments of heavy rain, the phytoncide effect left me feeling rejuvenated in both mind and body!

This power spot is recommended for those who can handle a good walk. Rejuvenate with the phytoncide effect!
