The Feast of Flowers! Enjoy Hydrangeas, Roses, and Irises All at Once at Sagamihara Kita Park

Kanagawa

Hello, fellow travel lovers!

Today, I’d like to introduce you to Sagamihara Kita Park.

This is no ordinary park—it feels more like a botanical garden!

It’s a relaxing spot where you can enjoy seasonal flowers all year round.

When I visited in early June this year, hydrangeas, irises, and roses were all in full bloom at the same time—it truly felt like a festival of flowers!

They had just started blooming, and every hydrangea looked so fresh and vibrant!

They’re so beloved that you can even find them depicted on the city's manhole covers.

Plus, the rose garden was charming, with tiered displays of roses in full bloom. Some drooping roses (maybe weeping roses?) added a touch of character and looked absolutely lovely.

The iris area was also still in its prime, and the sight of professional photographers with their big cameras capturing the flowers was quite heartwarming.

The park has gentle slopes, making it accessible and friendly for the elderly, so anyone can enjoy it with ease.

It’s the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll, where you can feel the power of flowers and relaxation.

If you get the chance, be sure to visit!

Time of visit: Early June
