Katsushika Shibamata Shibamata Station

Tokyo

It's the plaza in front of Shibamata Station, just beyond the approach to Taishakuten.

The Tamaya shop in Shibamata, where they sell golden poop said to bring good fortune.

Caught up in the energetic sales pitch of the shopkeeper, I ended up buying things like a stomach wrap and a loofah said to be good for beauty...

The Tora-san statue in front of Shibamata Station, with only its left foot shining brightly. It's said that because the left wooden sandal (geta) didn't come off, it brings blessings such as success and stability.

And the sandals of the Sakura statue feature hand-written characters 'Sa' and 'Chi' by Chieko Baisho, which are said to bring good fortune. Naturally, I touched them. However, I always wonder why touching them brings blessings.

Duration of stay here: 20 minutes
