Hello, fellow travel lovers!
This time, I wrapped up my visit to Kawasaki Daishi with a perfect stop at the soba restaurant "Hayama," soaking up its nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere.
Heading to "Hayama," where a subtle Showa-era vibe fills the air
After finishing my protective prayers at the temple and with my stomach growling, I spotted "Hayama" right in front of Kawasaki Daishi's main gate.
The calming Showa-era vibe and the warm hospitality—where they refill your tea multiple times—create a relaxing, comforting space. It’s truly a place to unwind.
A Confident Order: I went for the Tempura Seiro Soba!
These days, many places use touch-panel ordering, but here, it's all done the old-fashioned way. Even my mother confidently placed her order. She chose the "Tempura Seiro Soba."
When it arrived, I had a brief moment of “Wait, is that enough?”… only to discover it was a two-tiered soba stack! It was much more than it looked, and I happily polished it off.
Finished off with their famous kuzumochi for a sweet treat!
After the meal, I added a mini-sized serving of the shop's specialty, *kuzumochi*. Topped generously with black syrup and kinako, it was absolutely delicious! It may be mini-sized, but the taste was fully satisfying.
A Retro Space Filled with Good Fortune
The table I was seated at had a turtle painting, giving off an extra bit of lucky charm.
With the blessings from my temple visit and an extra boost of luck, I enjoyed a warm and comforting lunchtime.
And above all... "Hayama" only accepts cash, which feels nostalgically charming!
