Japan's Uyuni Salt Flats!? Aim for a Stunning View at Tenjinzaki!

Wakayama

Hello, fellow travel lovers!

This time, I’ll introduce Tenjinzaki in Wakayama Prefecture, a breathtaking spot also known as 'Japan's Uyuni Salt Flats.' It's a must-visit location for capturing stunning scenic photos.

On this day, it was drizzling, low tide was approaching, and to top it off, there were strong winds... well, the conditions were pretty bad (lol).

As a result, I couldn’t witness the mirror-like scenery I had dreamed of, similar to the Uyuni Salt Flats, but that’s just part of the adventure! Dealing with unpredictable weather is one of the fun aspects of traveling.

To fully enjoy the beauty of Tenjinzaki, the ideal conditions are during low tide when the sea level is around 150 to 140 cm, with no wind and a clear sunny day. Under these conditions, the sea’s surface turns into a mirror, perfectly reflecting the blue sky!

In that moment, the scene truly lives up to its name as 'Japan's Uyuni Salt Flats.

Though the conditions were pretty terrible that day, I’ve borrowed some beautiful photos from the Tenjinzaki Gallery of the Tourism Association to show you the ideal Tenjinzaki! (I’ll definitely be back for a re-shoot next time...)

Next time, I’m aiming for perfect conditions to capture the stunning scenery! I encourage you all to experience 'Japan’s Uyuni Salt Flats' at Tenjinzaki as well.

The journey continues... Wishing you all a wonderful trip! – TabiJun
