Forest Station・Momiji Valley Great Suspension Bridge

Let’s go for a sky-high stroll!
Next up is **Mori no Eki Momiji Valley Suspension Bridge**.
The 320-meter-long suspension bridge offers views so breathtaking, they look like a postcard! You can’t help but let out a “Wow…” at the sheer beauty.

The Momiji Valley Suspension Bridge spans 320 meters, making it one of the largest cable-stayed pedestrian suspension bridges on Honshu. Unlike typical suspension bridges, it features a unique design with lateral wire ropes to enhance its strength. At a height of 26 meters, the bridge offers a panoramic view of the majestic Shiobara Gorge as you cross.

An awe-inspiring waterfall! Visiting in the rain was totally worth it! Legend has it that a monk on a spiritual journey once encountered a dragon hidden behind the waterfall. The dragon transformed into a bodhisattva right before his eyes. The name of the waterfall comes from the way it appears as though a dragon is ascending into the sky.

Lunch is at **Kamabiko**, home of the Shiobara specialty "Original Soup Yakisoba."
It looks like ramen, but tastes like yakisoba! This mysterious dish has a spicy kick that’s absolutely addictive.

Is this the soul food of Nasushiobara? It’s not quite yakisoba, not quite ramen… but a yakisoba-like ramen dish! This famous restaurant has been featured on media outlets several times. The walls are adorned with autographed boards from celebrities, most of which are nearly impossible to decipher. On weekends, it seems to attract quite the crowd, with lines forming outside.

After lunch, it’s time to visit Shiobara Hachiman Shrine.
Behold the 1,500-year-old **Upside-Down Cedar**! Its sheer size will leave you wondering, “How long have you been standing here, watching over us?” You can’t help but feel overwhelmed by the grandeur of nature.

Shiobara Hachiman Shrine stands quietly within the serene forests of Nasushiobara. As you pass through the torii gate, you’ll be greeted by a charming, moss-covered dragon statue. A bridge stretches over the pond, allowing visitors to walk to the central shrine. The shrine is also famous for the **Upside-Down Cedar**, a designated natural monument, which adds to the sacred and tranquil atmosphere of the area.

A lounge with a view of the waterfall—pure relaxation. We were welcomed with a **complimentary drink bar**, featuring a generous selection. They even had sparkling wine—what a treat! This time, our room was a spacious **3LDK**, perfect for four people to relax and unwind comfortably.
