Visited Oiwa Shrine in Hitachi City, Ibaraki. Featuring the three sacred cedars selected as part of the “Forest Giants 100,” Basho’s haiku monument, the grand temple gate, and stone Buddhas — with plenty of photos. A power spot where the entire mountain is considered sacred, and the air itself feels different.

A half-day walking model course in Asagaya, visiting shrines associated with the Year of the Horse. After praying at Mabashi Inari Shrine and Kisho Shrine, enjoy a New Year gathering and café time along Junjo Shopping Street. Includes a walking route and estimated time schedule.
