Next stop: Italy!? An easy overseas-style trip under the stars in Yokohama

Kanagawa

Hello, fellow travel lovers!

This time, I’m taking you on a cool and extraordinary planetarium journey where you can feel the universe—right in Yokohama!

I visited Konica Minolta Planetaria YOKOHAMA.

Just a 7-minute walk (about 500 meters) from Yokohama Station—super easy access!

On hot days, it’s a relief to warp into the cool indoor space in no time!

The interior is super stylish—a soothing space where universe meets art.

Once you’ve got your ticket, take a moment to relax in the chic lobby.

The gift shop sparkles like a nebula—it feels like you’ve wandered into outer space.

Before you know it, your wallet starts to open… must be the gravitational pull of the universe! (lol)

This time’s challenge… the Celestial Magnet Gacha! 🌍

Tucked beside the lobby was the Celestial Magnet Gacha machine.

My friend, who was determined to get Earth, invited me to try it—so I gave it a spin without much thought...
And out came... the Sun! 🌞 Totally unexpected!

And my friend ended up with Jupiter.
Turns out, the “Jupiter” my friend thought they got last time was actually Mars! (lol)
Let’s leave the wish for Earth to a shooting star.

I wasn’t aiming for the Sun, but the moment it appeared, I felt oddly attached to it…!

Plus, it sticks on with a magnet and spins around—so fun! ✨

Having the Sun spin in your hand is kind of strange… but also kind of fun! (lol)

The main event: a starry stroll through the skies of Italy

Finally, the program begins!

The seats are fully reclining—sit back and you’re instantly transported to space…

Careful not to relax too much—you might warp straight into dreamland! (lol)

What’s projected isn’t just the starry sky.

Beautiful starry skies, historic cityscapes, and serene countryside scenes from all over Italy fill the dome—total immersion!

Even wish-making has an international twist 🌠✨

During the show, shooting stars zip across the sky one after another...

In Italy, it’s said that making a wish just once is enough!

In Japan, they say you have to say it three times, but…

Isn’t that basically impossible!?(笑)

I’ve never once managed to say “endless travel, endless travel, endless travel” without stumbling before the star disappears! (lol)

Don’t forget photo time and all the Insta-worthy spots! 📸

Next to the entrance, there’s a photo-worthy corner featuring planetary visuals!
It’s a must-snap spot you definitely don’t want to miss!

Plus, you’re allowed to take photos inside the dome before the show starts—so be sure to grab a souvenir shot before it begins! 📷 (No photos during the show, though)

The perfect summer outing and cool-down spot 🌿

Even when it’s blazing outside, the inside is cool and quiet—a peaceful escape under the stars, like a secret summer hideaway for grown-ups.

Getting to cool off while enjoying a space trip and a taste of Italy? I’d say that’s a successful “escape-the-heat mission”!
