Exploring Sakura Lavenderland! No blooms yet… but still worth the visit!?

Chiba

Hello, fellow travel lovers!

This time, I’m introducing Sakura Lavenderland in Chiba! I was drawn in by photos of lavender I saw online and decided to stop by on the way back from Keisei Rose Garden.

It was a bit cloudy, and the lavender had only just started to bloom. But the peaceful atmosphere and wide-open scenery… truly breathtaking.

A “land” at the end of a narrow country road?

Following the navigation, we drove straight into the middle of rice fields! After nervously making our way down a narrow country road, we trusted a tiny sign and kept going...

Did we go too far? Just as we thought that, we spotted a sign saying “Parking this way.” But it turned out… that was the second parking lot.

The main parking lot was actually accessible through the back of a golf practice range.

By the way, despite the name “Lavenderland,” it felt more like a well-maintained photo spot that suddenly appears in the middle of rice fields.

I missed taking photos of the narrow road and signs this time, but trust me—once you're there, you'll keep wondering, “Is this really the right way?” If it’s your first visit, it’s best to expect to get a little lost!

The real lavender season is still to come!

The lavender was still in its early stage, with a double combo of just starting to bloom and a cloudy sky. Even so, the peaceful setting surrounded by nature was incredibly soothing.

The rose garden was absolutely stunning!

The rose garden beside the building turned out to be the unexpected star of the show.

It was hard to believe it was free to enter—so many colorful roses were beautifully maintained and in full bloom.

Seeing the staff carefully tending to the flowers added a heartwarming touch to the scene.

Local ginger ale—with a twist of personality?

At the shop, we found ginger ale made with local Yachimata-grown ginger.
The three of us each bought a bottle and lined them up—every single one was a different color.

We gave them a gentle shake to mix the ginger settled at the bottom, but since it’s carbonated, shaking too much was definitely risky.

Using the trusty “tap-tap” trick, we opened them safely and enjoyed the sharp, refreshing flavor.

Looking back at the photo later, it hit me—
The color differences might just reflect how strongly each of us shook our bottles… or maybe even our personalities?

Next time, I’m aiming for full bloom and clear skies!

The lavender was a bit early, and the weather was cloudy.
それでも心に残る景色と、静かでやさしい時間がここにはありました。

Next time, I’d love to return during the peak season—from mid-June to early July—under clear blue skies.
