This time, here’s a 3-day, 2-night road trip to Sendai by car! 🚗
From cherries to hot springs, sake, a giant Kannon, and even the god of victory—this trip had it all!
Everything flowed so perfectly, it felt like the travel gods were on our side! 😄
Alright, let’s dive into the trip—here’s a quick day-by-day rundown! 👇
🏁 Day 1: Cherries → Shrine → Whisky → Hot Springs!
🍒 Roadside Cherries & Mori no Eki (The corn was divine!)
First thing in the morning, we headed straight for Mori no Eki, known for its fresh, locally grown cherries!
At Mori no Eki, the freshly boiled corn was a total jackpot! 🌽

⛩ Prayed for a safe journey at Kokubu Ichinomiya Suwa Shrine!
“Please let us have a safe trip… and lots of good food!” I prayed seriously—well, mostly! 😄

🥃 Tour of the Nikka Whisky Miyagikyo Distillery
Learned a lot with the guided tour and got happily tipsy with tastings—next thing I knew, I was standing on “Nikka 1-Banchi”!

🏨 Checked in at Hotel Monterey Sendai
Super convenient location near the station! After sweating it out in the bath and sauna, I was treated to a surprise—free beer in the panoramic lounge! 🍺🍺！
🍽 Dinner in style at Zui-en, the hotel’s elegant Miyagi kaiseki restaurant
Savoring Miyagi kaiseki in a private room—sleepy from the early start, but every bite was too good to leave behind!
🏞 Day 2: Morning Market → Forest Walk → Giant Kannon → Sake!
🛍 Breakfast at the Sendai Morning Market… or so we thought
A little after 8 AM, most shops were still getting ready 😅 Maybe a relaxed hotel breakfast would've been smarter?

🌳 A serious morning walk at Mizunomori Park
Walking through nature worked up a serious appetite! Some trails even felt like legit mountain hikes…

🙏 A final-boss-level spiritual experience at Sendai Daikannon!
Its towering presence truly felt like Sendai’s final boss! You can even go inside—an epic-scale Buddha experience!
🍶 Sake brewery tour & lunch at Moritami Shuzou Honke!
↓ Just an 18-minute walk (1.3 km) from the hotel
The weekday-only brewery tour and fermented gourmet lunch were absolutely divine…
🍕 Dinner at Butcher Republic—Chicago pizza time!
Why Chicago in Sendai? Let’s not question it—just embrace the glorious cheese-and-beer overload!🍕🍺
🎁 Day 3: Easygoing trip home… but still making the most of it!
🍕 Breakfast? Last night’s leftover pizza (lol)
“How is it still this good cold!?” Totally satisfied with the flavor.
🍒 One last stop at Mori no Eki to restock on cherries!
Feeling max-level sentimental… already decided to come back next year!
⛩ And for the grand finale—charged up on victory luck at Akiu Shrine!
An awe-inspiring path lined with banners, a sacred tree, the Victory Stone, even a prayer for back pain—this shrine had it all!
