Feel the Art of Nature! A Scenic Walk at Senjojiki in Nanki Shirahama

Wakayama

Hello, fellow travel lovers!

Today, I’m introducing one of Nanki Shirahama’s scenic spots, Senjojiki. This place is truly a magnificent piece of art created by nature.

There’s a parking lot available, so access is super easy.

Senjojiki is a place where soft rocks have been eroded by rough waves over many years.

It looks like a vast tatami mat spreading out, and the scenery is truly breathtaking!

The power of nature is truly amazing, isn’t it?

Now, while the view is stunning as far as the eye can see… it’s a bit sad to notice some hand-carved graffiti here and there.

As I walk along, I can’t help but think, “Come on, let’s not do this,” in my head, seeing the beautiful nature spoiled like this.

With the blue sky and white spray from the waves, it seemed like the perfect photo opportunity! Excited, I headed toward the edge, but the rocky terrain was jagged, and the footing was unstable.

On top of that, the wind was howling so fiercely that I felt like I might fall over.

At that point, I decided to give up the adventure. When dealing with nature, it’s important not to push yourself—safety first!

Even so, the view from Senjojiki is absolutely amazing. Watching the ocean while being gently blown by the wind is an experience in itself.

When you visit, make sure to watch your step and enjoy the experience safely!

The journey continues... Wishing you all a wonderful trip! – TabiJun
