Hello, fellow travel lovers!
This time, I took a ride on the Tainoura sightseeing boat.
First, I paid a visit to Ko-Benten
Before boarding the sightseeing boat, I first paid a visit to Ko-Benten, located along the Tainoura Haraiyama promenade.
I made a wish to see plenty of sea bream.
If the tide is low, you can walk across, but this time I decided against it—getting soaked wasn’t part of the plan!
And here is the Showa Emperor Visit Memorial Monument.
From here, you can catch a glimpse of Dai-Benten, making it a great spot for an Instagram-worthy shot—highly recommended!
I also took a peek at Ko-Benten! But to be honest, I wouldn't highly recommend it.
Get your discount ticket!
When purchasing my ticket, I was asked, "Do you have a discount ticket?" …but unfortunately, I didn’t have one.
Later, I stopped by a restaurant and a souvenir shop, only to find plenty of 100-yen discount tickets available!
If you're planning to visit, be sure to check in advance!
When you purchase your ticket, the departure time is set!
This sightseeing boat doesn’t have a fixed timetable.
When you buy your ticket, they inform you of the departure time on the spot.
This time, there was about a 30-minute wait before departure, so I spent a relaxing time at the Tai Mikoshi Exhibition Room and the observation deck.
A dazzling golden sea bream mikoshi that radiates a festive and auspicious atmosphere.
Feeling the sea breeze while gazing blankly at the ocean is also a great way to relax.
Stopping by a nearby souvenir shop for a casual browse and some souvenir hunting is also a good idea!
Off to OhBenten
The cruise lasts about 30 minutes, and pets are allowed on board. We set sail with six passengers on board.
We arrived at a spot where we could pay our respects to Oh-Benten from the sea! When I mumbled, “I wish we could get closer,” the boatman replied, “We’d run aground.” Well… fair enough!
A spot to encounter wild sea bream!
At this spot, if you throw some feed, wild sea bream will appear… but…
Huh? Other fish eagerly showed up first! It seems that sea bream are shy and quietly observe from the depths of the sea.
The boatman pointed out, "That red one down there is a sea bream!" But just as I started searching… the feeding time was over!
I couldn’t spot it with my own eyes, but I’m sure we crossed paths! Yep, let’s just say I secured some good luck!
The 30-minute cruise flew by in no time!
As I soaked in the beautiful scenery, I suddenly realized—we were already back at the dock. Where should I drift off to next…?
The journey continues... Wishing you all a wonderful trip! – TabiJun
