And guess what? Our guide was MONA, a fluent Japanese-speaking archaeologist (yes, really!).

📝 Check-In & Important Notes
First, check in at the reception counter.
Here, you'll get a rundown of a few important rules. One that really surprised me was…
Heels over 5cm are not allowed.
At first I was like, “Wait, what?” — but then it totally made sense...
During the VR experience, the immersion is so intense that some areas feel uneven, and your sense of balance can get a little shaky!
It turns out, it's an important rule to help prevent falls.
And no worries if you show up in heels—they’ve got disposable slippers available for purchase!
🧳 Store your belongings in a locker.
Right after check-in, there’s a locker area nearby where you’ll store all your belongings.
By the way… you can keep your phone or glasses, but since photography isn’t allowed during the VR experience, you won’t be using them—so honestly, it’s easier to just store everything!
🚪 Head down the corridor to the future…
After storing your belongings, head to the touch panel to register your name.
📷 This hallway has total sci-fi vibes and looks amazing in photos!
It feels just like walking toward the boarding gate of a time machine...
Your travel mode instantly switches ON.
Goggles on & off we go!
After entering your name, a staff member helps you put on the VR goggles.
Once you're suited up, everyone transforms into avatars!

People in your group appear as bluish-purple humanoid avatars (with names).

Other groups appear as white avatars.
Everyone's super slim—it's like being in the middle of an alien conference! The futuristic vibe is off the charts (lol).
Experience Ancient Egypt in VR
The first thing you see is a massive, towering pyramid right in front of you!
That instantly gets you hyped!
And get this—you even get to explore normally off-limits areas inside the pyramid, guided by MONA herself!
Inside, it’s full of tunnels and chambers—like a giant block of Swiss cheese! Wandering through them is such a thrill!
It feels like one wrong step and you might fall into the depths of a cavern...
You carefully tiptoe across the stones, trying not to lose your footing.
🐱 Enter Bastet, the Cat Goddess!
And here’s where things get even more interesting.
Believe it or not, the cat-shaped goddess Bastet suddenly appears midway through!
During the tour, there's a sudden power outage, and MONA steps away to deal with it.
And that’s when Bastet makes her entrance!
“Well, I suppose I have no choice. I’ll guide you myself.”
And just like that, your guide switches to an actual goddess!
⛵ A surreal journey aboard the boat of the dead!
Next thing you know, you’re aboard a mystical boat heading toward the realm of the dead…
Silently gliding through the dreamlike scenery,
…it was a one-of-a-kind experience you could never have in real life—pure VR magic.
“Wait… am I crossing over to the other side…?”
That's how insanely immersive it felt (lol)!
⚰ Witness the mummification ritual of King Khufu!
In the latter half, you witness the sacred ritual of mummifying King Khufu.
It shows how the body is carefully prepared out of deep respect for the dead, to help them be reborn in the afterlife.
You can even peek inside the coffin—there lies the mummy, resting peacefully…
It’s so realistic, you’ll be thinking, “Wait, they’re really showing us this!?”
VR is next-level… I found myself holding my breath, completely drawn in.
