Miraculous Blessings!? Starting My Wish-Making Routine at Ayashi Jinja (Kokubuichinomiya Suwajinja) in Sendai 🍒

Miyagi

Hello, fellow travel lovers!

This time, I visited Kokubuichinomiya Suwajinja, also known as Ayashi Jinja, located in Ayashi, Aoba Ward, Sendai City♪

It's actually a hidden gem of a power spot, known only to those in the know.

It’s long been believed to bring good luck in competitions and to be a place where wishes come true.

Finally visited the shrine recommended by my god-prayer master friend!

"The blessings here really work!" — or so my friend passionately claimed.…my childhood friend, a true master of praying to the gods.。

Maybe the real secret to her success is that she never skips the follow-up thank-you prayers?

But I thought, “Wait… isn’t it kind of far?” So I’d been putting it off for a while.

But surprise, surprise!
Turns out it’s right near the roadside station where I buy cherries every year 🍒 No excuses now—I had to go!

And now… I just might start my own yearly thank-you prayer routine! (lol)

📍 Getting there is a bit tricky.

On Google Maps, it looks like it’s right off the Ayashi Bypass—but for some reason, it sends you on a mysterious roundabout route.

🚗 It’s the classic “Bypass → detour into the backroads → loop back to a narrow side path” kind of mystery route.

👉 Just trust Google and follow along—you’ll get there in the end! (lol)

🏯 Time to visit the shrine! …Wait, what? Under renovation!?

I arrived at the shrine grounds with sky-high expectations.

The stone steps leading into the shrine grounds are steeped in history.

It was a hot day, but there was a refreshing breeze right there—must be the work of the blessing gods!

…But wait! The main hall was completely covered in scaffolding—under renovation!?

The main hall under renovation (a rare sight in its own way?)

It was a total “Womp womp…” moment—but hey, it’s what’s inside that counts when it comes to blessings!

The outside’s evolving, but the spirit within remains unchanged! (Probably.)

🐸 An unexpected encounter—could that be a blessing too?

While walking alongside the main hall…

Something suddenly jumped at my feet!

It was a tiny little frog 🐸💦
I almost stepped on it—but managed to avoid it just in time!

🍒 A wish, carried along with the cherries

I hope I can come back next year to enjoy those delicious cherries again!

It may seem like a small wish, but without health and peace, it’s actually a big one.

Grateful I made it again this year, I quietly promised myself—I’m definitely coming back next year, too.
