Wanna visit Katushika Shibamata
Here's the Katsushika Shibamata full enjoyment course. I had a great time. The early bird catches the worm!
This is the tourist map I got on-site. The illustrations have a charming Showa-era feel to them.
Shibamata Park Parking Lot
In the distance, you can see the vast sky and the Edogawa River. In the foreground is the Shibamata Park ground. There are several large grounds. The parking lot is to the right in the photo.
At the parking lot entrance, you pay 500 yen for a full day of parking. Cheap!
Clear skies, light breeze. The fresh morning air really lifts my spirits.

Daikyo-ji Temple (Shibamata Taishakuten)
Katsushika is synonymous with Shibamata Taishakuten! I went there first thing in the morning.

Taishakuten Approach
After visiting Taishakuten, start with breakfast. They have a variety of souvenirs like dumplings, pickles, folk crafts, dagashi (Japanese sweets), and Buddhist items. Just browsing around is enjoyable in itself.

Shibamata Station
This is Keisei Shibamata Station. I really like the font used for the station signs. It balances well with the tiled roof!
↓ 4-min walk (290 m)
Manpuku-ji Temple
Fukurokuju at Shibamata's Seven Lucky Gods. Exploring the Seven Lucky Gods circuit is a great idea. Just a bit off the main path, it was surprisingly tranquil.
↓ Walk 5min (350m)
Tora-san Memorial Museum
Here's a diorama of the approach I just strolled along.

The Yagiri Ferry
That's the hit song from the Showa era, "Yagiri no Watashi" by Takashi Hosokawa!
↓🚙12min (5.3㎞)
Egao no Yu
Drive to the Chiba Prefecture side of the Edogawa River.
On the way, I made a detour to Ichikawa, the road station closest to Tokyo.
They have a variety of souvenirs such as local vegetables, prosciutto, and dumplings.

Summary
Access from the parking lot was convenient, and Shibamata was full of attractions to explore. Be sure to experience the Showa retro atmosphere of the town.
