Hello, fellow travel lovers!
With my stomach satisfied, it was time to hop on the ropeway and head up to Gifu Castle.
Before that, a little detour! A gourmet mission awaits at Kinkazan Observatory Restaurant “Le Pont du Ciel.”
The ropeway fare is 620 yen one-way (1,080 yen round-trip). Since I plan to hike down this time, I bought a one-way ticket.
It’s only a 3-minute journey in the sky, but the river and town below quickly turn into a miniature world, and my heart races with excitement!
Heading up to Mount Kinka by Ropeway
First, to the ropeway station.
A line had already formed—proof that this is truly a popular tourist spot!
📸 Cheers to the ropeway’s long life! Congratulations!
📸 Say cheese—commemorative photo! I may not get a promotion, but it’s a fun keepsake, haha.
While waiting in line, I had a lovely little encounter.
A lady told me, “Today is my birthday, and I’m the same age as the ropeway—70! I’m so happy to get a ticket with my special date printed on it.”
I couldn’t help but say, “Happy Birthday!” and we shared a warm, heartwarming moment together.
Beyond the line stood an impressive three-storied pagoda, radiating a sense of historical dignity.
Basking in the sunlight, it shone brilliantly. While I couldn’t help wishing for a bit of shade, even the waiting time felt special.
After about 30 minutes of waiting, it was finally my turn!
📸 Face to face with the sleek and stylish ropeway!
All aboard!
Outside the window, breathtaking views unfold as the river and town gradually transform into a tiny diorama.
📸 View from the window: “Like peeking into a miniature world from the sky.”
With excitement building at the view outside the window, we headed toward the mountaintop.
The river and town kept getting smaller and smaller, and my excitement reached its peak.
This alone was already satisfying enough! …But of course, the adventure doesn’t end here!
Next up, it’s time for the gourmet mission at Kinkazan Observatory Restaurant *Le Pont du Ciel*—diving into some delicious Hida beef!
The journey continues... Wishing you all a wonderful trip! – TabiJun
