Hello, fellow travel lovers!
This time, let me introduce the "Momiji Valley Grand Suspension Bridge," which was full of fun even in the rain.
This 320-meter-long suspension bridge, the largest in Honshu, is no ordinary bridge! It features an impressive design reinforced with wire ropes for extra strength. Plus, at 26 meters above ground, it offers a thrilling skywalk with panoramic views of the Shiobara Valley.
The cosmos flowers were in full bloom at the entrance to the bridge! Well, almost in full bloom!
It was shaking quite a bit—then I realized someone behind me was jumping! The bridge swayed, and I kept moving forward with a nervous smile, saying, "Please stop!"
Even as the bridge swayed, the view remained mesmerizing.
Long! Swaying! And on the other side, waiting for us is...
After crossing the swaying bridge, I turned around to look back. It was one of those moments where I told myself, "See? It really is this long!"
I spotted a sign saying, "Beware of pit vipers!" I thought having an umbrella might make me feel safe, but honestly, whether I could actually fight one off with it remains a mystery.
Adorable Monuments & Lover’s Sanctuary
I discovered an adorable monument—a kappa statue cheerfully welcoming visitors!
Could it be that this little guy was the one jumping on the bridge earlier and making it sway!?
A monument of a "Kumataka" couple snuggled close together and a heart-shaped bench make their appearance!
This spot is actually a "Lover's Sanctuary," perfect for proposals. Although the rain toned down the romance a bit, the atmosphere was still lovely. Being endorsed by Yumi Katsura definitely adds a touch of credibility!
A Moment of Rest at the Rainy Dam Park
This is Shiobara Dam Park, with plenty of rest spots scattered around—perfect for enjoying the scenery.
It’s such a shame it was raining.
I was amazed to see so many dragonflies flying around in the rain. And the dragonflies perched on the trees—believe it or not—their abs were ripped!
A Mysterious Shrine and Next Time’s Excitement
I spotted an intriguing shrine along the way, but with the rain making things a hassle, I decided to skip it this time...
That’s a task for next time!
And in the autumn foliage season, the scenery is bound to be even more breathtaking! The Shinrin no Eki website is full of stunning autumn photos—be sure to check it out!
The journey continues... Wishing you all a wonderful trip! – TabiJun
