At the Kanagawa Prefectural Disaster Prevention Center, we experienced a magnitude 7 earthquake simulation, strong winds, fire extinguishing, and smoke evacuation. This article also introduces the history of firefighting, AED training, and useful disaster-preparedness supplies, while sharing what the hands-on experiences taught us about the importance of being prepared.
